RADICAL DOMESTICITY

RAD DESIGN 2026 Groupshow

RADICAL DOMESTICITY reimagines the home as a site of social, economic and architectural experimentation, a space open to rewriting rather than fixed by convention. It proposes a conceptual reset, inviting us to question how domestic life is constructed and to reconsider the structures that shape everyday living. Instead of a predetermined, private interior, domesticity is approached as a layered environment shaped by shifting habits, evolving forms of cohabitation and broader social and political contexts. This perspective opens space for alternative ways of living that challenge norms around family, ownership, labour and intimacy. Through objects and spatial gestures, the exhibition foregrounds works as both tools and agents, revealing how design can subtly reshape comfort, care and control, and make visible the ongoing negotiation between individuals and the spaces they inhabit.
